An implementation committee began meeting in May 2001. This group translated the vision statement into an organizational structure - The Diamond City Partnership - which was formally incorporated on September 12, 2001. |

The fourth and final meeting was held at the F. M. Kirby Center on Public Square from 6 to 8 p.m. It was a wrap-up of the Downtown Visioning process and a celebration of the accomplishment of the citizens who participated in it.

Workshop #3 - March 14, 2001 |
The third workshop of the visioning downtown Wilkes-Barre process was held at the F. M. Kirby Center on Public Square from 6 to 8 p.m. About 200 citizens received a presentation of the SWOT analysis from Workshop #2 and then selected one of six groups to draft a vision statement for downtown renewal. |

Workshop #1 - January 31, 2001 |
Over 300 citizens representing a wide cross-section of the population met at the Ramada Plaza Hotel on Public Square to begin the process of visioning downtown Wilkes-Barre. The workshop was facilitated by Bill Fontana, Executive Director, of the Pennsylvania Downtown Center of Harrisburg, PA. |
