Difficult economic times are often the occasion for "blaming" immigrants for the lack of jobs or for taking "hard earned" taxpayer dollars for their own needs. The map above shows the truth of the immigrant picture in the Wyoming Valley. There are hardly any immigrants. In addition, out of 188,073 persons in the Valley there are only 1,172 non-citizens (0.6%). That small number includes persons of all ages so the number in the labor force is even smaller. |
