PP&L Susquehanna Station: Erosion Mitigation Project |

In the Fall of 2001 Dr. Brian Mangan and his Environmental Studies students began a cooperative project with the Pennsylvania Power and Light Company's environmental engineers at the Susquehanna Steam Electric Station in Salem, PA. Together with other environmental scientists, the students developed a plan to mitigate soil erosion in one area of the property. The MAP Center cooperated by preparing background and context maps and creating a GIS database from drawings and photographs supplied by PP&L. |
The EPA's EnviroMapper ToolThe MAP Center, in cooperation with the EPA has created a demonstration to show how GIS data from the Federal level is directly available to the public in a form that is immediately useful. |
