These USGS contour lines provide elevation and location data which is essential for building a terrain model. The inset maps illustrate the different topologies of the Valley and provide "anchors" for the viewer of the 3D maps. We chose the Pittston inset area to describe the model building process because it contains a wide range of geographic elements; mountain, river and flood plain.
