DCP Planning Maps - images and portable document files (pdf) for working groups and the public. The current GIS database is meant for visualization and planning purposes. This spatial data and its attributes will become more refined and accurate as the DCP, MAP Center and general public continue their community improvement dialog.

The Diamond City Partnership (DCP) is a coalition of organizations, businesses, and individuals created to implement the six downtown revitalization strategies resulting from the 2001 Downtown Wilkes-Barre Visioning Sessions. King's College is a DCP member and the material presented here is indicative of the College's commitment to the local community. Information on DCP organization, background and the strategic market development plan can be found on The Diamond City Partnership Web site.

The MAP Center began this project in the Fall of 2001 by converting our Downtown Merchants Guide Map to a GIS-based system. We expanded the coverage area from Ross to Academy Street and created new GIS data layers for building, parking lot and parcel polygons. We added attributes to allow planners to classify map elements by function and adapted spatial data from public sources to meet the needs of the DCP working groups.
